Saranya Devi Narahari wins the 1st ChessBase India Chess Festival in Hyderabad
Girl power shines in Hyderabad as 12-year-old Saranya Devi Narahari clinches the 1st ChessBase India Chess Festival held at the Sarath City Capital Mall in Hyderabad. On the occasion of FIDE's 100th birthday this chess festival was organized as a part of the Guinness world record attempt. On the 20th of July on International Chess Day, more than 100 players were a part of the event while 100s of people gathered around to witness this one of a kind event. 12-year-old Saranya wins the 1st ChessBase India Chess Festival in Hyderabad on the International Chess Day
On the occasion of FIDE's 100th birthday, the 1st ChessBase India Chess Festival in Hyderabad was organized as a part of the Guinness world record attempt at the Sarath City Capital Mall in Hyderabad. Celebrating 100 years of FIDE, this was a World record attempt to play the most number of games in a single day. More than 100 players were a part of the event while 100s of people gathered around to witness this one of a kind event!
Saranya started as the seventeenth seed of the tournament but her seven wins and consistent performance helped her to get better tie-breaks and become the champion as she tied with 1st-runner-up Ravi Krishna G and 2nd-runner-up Nidhish Shyamal who also scored 7.5/9 points.
Saranya was awarded a medal, a ChessBase 17 and Silman's Complete Endgame Course book. Ravi Krishna G was awarded A Super Grandmaster's Guide to Openings Vol.1 & 2 video course by Anish Giri & Medal and Nidhish was awarded Attack like a Super GM with D.Gukesh video course & medal.

One of our sponsors Life Purified also send some goodie bags for the winners, but due to some unforeseen reasons we could give them to the players. For the first time in Hyderabad, a puzzle solving content was held as a part of the 1st ChessBase India Chess Festival In Hyderabad! Around thirty players were a part of the event and The reigning National Under-9 Girls Chess Champion and World Cup in Chess solving Under-10 champion, Samhita Pungavanam won the 1st ChessBase India Chess Festival puzzle solving competition by score an impressive 8/10.
Ishaan Kandi and Virat Dharmik Mylavarapu finished as the 1st and 2nd runner-up. All the three winners were awarded ChessBase India Premium Chess Sets!
