1st ChessBase India Chess Festival in Hyderabad on International Chess Day - 20th July
This International Chess Day, ChessBase India is organizing a special chess event in Hyderabad! We are organizing a Blitz tournament and a problem solving contest on the day in which FIDE, the apex organization of Chess worldwide, turns 100 years old. With a minimal entry fee of Rs. 300 and Rs. 30,000 worth of prizes, this event is a must-play for all those who are interested in chess and live in Hyderabad or nearby! Chess Festival on 20th July at Hyderabad!
Celebrating the International Chess Day and 100 years of FIDE, ChessBase India is organizing the 1st ChessBase India Chess Festival in Hyderabad on 20th July. The event will be held at the Sarath City Capital Mall! You can register for the event right now.
There will be a Blitz tournament, a puzzle solving contest, and a tricky trivia contest held all on the same day! The exact location of the tournament playing hall is - Sarath City Capital Mall, Upper Ground floor Gachibowli - Miyapur Road, Whitefields, HITEC City, Kondapur, Telangana.
Tournament schedule
The event will kick off with the problem solving contest from 12 noon - the players are supposed to report to the playing hall by 11:30 AM IST sharp. It wil be a 30-minute contest, and from 1 PM the Blitz tournament will begin. The tricky trivia contest will keep taking place during the event - players, parents, friends, or any visitors can answer! The Blitz tournament will come to an end on 5:30 PM IST, and the prize distribution ceremony will start from 6:30 PM IST.
The Blitz tournament
The Blitz tournament will kick off at 1 PM IST, and the players should report to the playing hall by 12:30 PM. This will be a swiss tournament with 9 rounds of Blitz Chess. The time control for the tournament will be 3 minutes + 2 second increment starting from move one. FIDE laws of chess will be applied for tiebreaks.
The Problem Solving Contest
30 minutes of time - the fastest solver wins first place! Chess problems will be posed to the participants in the Problem solving Contest from 12 noon on 20th July. You have to solve the Chess problems assigned to you, and write down the answers carefully - showcasing all the important variations. The top 3 finishers of this event will receive ChessBase India premium Chess sets!

How to register for the tournament?
The entry fee for the Blitz tournament is Rs. 300, and it is Rs. 100 for the puzzle-solving contest. SLAN INTER-SCHOOL CHESS TOURNAMENT:
Chess has long been recognized for its educational benefits, from improving concentration and critical thinking skills to enhancing creativity and problem-solving abilities. We at SLAN Sports believe in holistic development, and our Inter-School chess tournament is a testament to this philosophy.
The idea for our Inter-School chess tournament is to take the game to the players than forcing the players to come to the game. This is a revolutionary concept that helped bring many newbies to the game and spread the love for the game. Now in its 4th edition, this format has really taken off and we are expecting to conduct this in over 100+ school in Hyderabad with over 15,000+ kids participating in this year’s edition. Hyderabad Chess Centre:
When were thinking about how to arrange the chess boards and clocks for the tournament we were in a bit of confusion. And on top of that, there are the rental changes and logistics related to them. One day Rishpal messaged me that Hyderabad Chess Centre would be happy to provide us the chess sets and clocks.

The joint capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana witnessed many strong international chess tournaments. 17 chess enthusiasts and players decided to launch Hyderabad Chess Centre on 7th July 2021 which was inaugurated by K S Prasad, President of Telangana State Chess Association in the presence of Guest of honor Mr. Jaikar Daniel, President, YMCA's of Greater Hyderabad and special invitees IM P D S Girinath and former National 'A' player G V Srinivasa Rao. Maestro Chess Academy is a professional chess academy, it's a group of 15 dedicated coaches who give their best to improve the standards of the students regularly. The coaches team includes international Fide masters and all coaches have been playing chess for 20+ years and are very passionate about chess.
Coming to Maestro Students, Many have won state championships regularly, some have Represented State and Won National Championships. Many have got and increased their International Fide Ratings.
