India's top four women - Humpy, Harika, Vaishali and Divya will battle at FIDE Pune GP
The fifth leg of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2024-25 will start today in Pune, Maharashtra. For the first time in a FIDE GP event, the top four Indian women - GM Koneru Humpy, GM Harika Dronavalli, GM R Vaishali and IM Divya Deshmukh will be seen in action. The ten-player round-robin tournament will also feature GM Jiner Zhu (CHN), IM Polina Shuvalova, IM Alina Kashlinskaya (POL), IM Nurgyul Salimova (BUL), IM Batkhuyag Munguntuul (BUL) and IM Melia Salome (MGL). Humpy and Vaishali will face each other in Round 1
The fifth leg of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix 2024-25 series starts today in Pune, Maharashtra. Ten top women of the world will fight for the first prize €18000 and valuable GP points which adds up to the direct qualification to FIDE Women's Candidates 2026. The total prize fund of the tournament is €80000. This will be the final GP event for GM Koneru Humpy, IM Batkhuyag Munguntuul (MGL), GM Harika Dronavalli, and IM Divya Deshmukh. Each GP participant can play three out of the six legs.

GP Standings
GM Aleksandra Goryachkina maintains her sole lead of the GP with 308.34 points, followed by IM Bibisara Assaubayeva (KAZ) 197.5. Goryachkina and Bibisara have played all three of their GP events of the season. So, they have none left. GM Anna Muzychuk (UKR) climbed up to the third place with 189.17 points after winning Nicosia GP. She still has one more tournament to go and a few more players.
Prizes
Total prize fund is €80000. The top three prizes are €18000, €13000 and €10500 each. The top three GP points are - 130, 105 and 85. For more details, check out the regulations below.

Round 1 starts today at 3 p.m. IST. The tournament will go on till 23rd April 2025. Sole rest day is on Saturday 19th April.
