Both Raunak and Abhimanyu drew their respective games. Raunak along with three other players are in the title fray at 5.0/6 each. Harshit, Rakshitta and Isha won their respective games. Raunak stays in the hunt
Nihal converted his minute advantage into a substantial one to beat one of Levon Aronian's second, Manuel Petrosyan. Raahil lost to Samvel Ter-Sahakyan who will face Raunak in the next round. Both Raunak and Abhimanyu Puranik drew their respective games.
Nihal - Manuel: 1-0
Nihal converted his extra pawn advantage beautifully in the endgame against Manuel Petrosyan.
Find out the correct plan for White in the above diagram.
Sedlak - Raunak: 0.5-0.5
Raunak made a quick 11-move draw with GM Nikola Sedlak.
Ter-Sahakyan - Raahil: 0-1
Raahil played inaccurately after his opponent GM Samvel Ter-Sahakyan sacrificed a knight.
Black needed to complete the development of the pieces. 22...Bb7 with the idea of 0-0-0 would have been better than the text. White recovered the piece eventually and the game was decided when Black missed a tactic and blundered a rook.
Stukan - Puranik: 0.5-0.5
FM Martin Stukan held GM Abhimanyu Puranik to a draw.
