Anurag Mhamal relays the Chess Olympiad Torch from Panaji to Bhopal
India's 48th and Goa's first GM Anurag Mhamal along with IM Bhakti Kulkarni relayed the Chess Olympiad Torch at the Panaji, Goa. Anurag was also the state's first IM. He won Gold at Asian Junior Boys 2013 Blitz, had several podium finishes in various open tournament held at Greece, Malaysia and Spain. Bhakti is a two-time National Women champion, a former Asian Women and Junior Girls Gold medalist. She has won a lot of medals for India at various levels. Last year she was instrumental in India's historic Silver medal win at World Women's Team Championship 2022. Sunday 3rd July 2022, Panaji - The Sports Minister of Goa, Govind Gaude received the Torch from India's 48th GM Anurag Mhamal and handed over to IM Bhakti Kulkarni

Ujjain - Goa's first GM Anurag Mhamal and Madhya Pradesh's first IM Akshat Khamparia took the Torch forward at Ujjain.
Monday 4th July - Mr. Tulsi Ram Silawat, Minister of Water Resources, MP received the Torch from GM Anurag Mhamal and handed it over to multi-time Madhya Pradesh State champion, WFM Nityata Jain and Cera Dagaria at IPS Academy, Indore.
The Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare of Madhya Pradesh, Ms. Yashodhara Raje Scindia received the Torch from GM Anurag Mhamal at Bhopal.
