Pravin Thipsay carries the Chess Olympiad Torch from Patna to Bodh Gaya
India's third and Maharashtra's first GM Pravin Thipsay received the Chess Olympiad Torch at Patna, Bihar. He relayed it to Rajgir and Bodh Gaya. The Arjuna Awardee has won a lot of accolades and countless laurels for the country. Our very own cofounder, IM Sagar Shah also had the opportunity to be one of his students at one point. The maestro does not need a book or any chess material to teach his students, he can recollect chess classics from his memory and edify. He is an accomplished coach, trained strong players like GM Lalit Rohit, GM S L Narayanan, IM Nisha Mohota, WGM Vantika Agrawal and more. He continues to train and tirelessly work in the promotion of chess everywhere. Photo: AICF
